While on a road trip we passed a car that pulled off the highway, well onto the grassy dirt area. The man was going through his trunk to change a flat tire. I explained to Patty that he should have just pulled onto the shoulder of the road to Jack up the car. Doing it on the dirt is going to push the jack into the ground.

     I was suddenly flooded with insight. Out of fear, the man was lured off the foundation of the shoulder of the road. The very small jack is well able to lift the car, a thousand times its own weight, if it’s on a sure foundation.

     We are That Jack! No matter how heavy the burden is, believers are well able to lift it, because they stand on the sure foundation! Fear lures the world and sometimes believers off the sure foundation to be easily pushed into the ground by the lightest of burdens.  Jesus is the Sure Foundation! The rock on which we stand, all other ground is sinking sand!
