Choose Your Foundation Wisely
While on a road trip we passed a car that pulled off the highway, well onto the grassy dirt area. The man was going through his trunk. I explained to my wife Patty that if he has a flat tire, he should have stayed on the shoulder of the road to Jack up the car. Doing it on the dirt is going to push the jack into the ground.
I was suddenly flooded with insight. Out of fear, the man was lured off the foundation of the shoulder of the road. The very small jack is well able to lift the car, a thousand times its own weight, if it’s on a sure foundation.
We are That Jack! No matter how heavy the burden is, believers are well able to lift it, because we stand on the sure foundation!
Fear keeps the world on their unstable foundation, and fear lures many believers off their sure foundation to be easily pushed into the ground by the lightest burden.
God is able to work all things together for good, no matter how impossible it is to us. Jesus is the Sure Foundation! The rock on which we stand, all other ground, is sinking sand!
